The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) is proud to welcome respected media personality and passionate community advocate Tanya Wilks OAM as our newest official Ambassador.
A familiar and trusted voice across the Hunter region, Tanya has long been a champion for local causes. Her connection with HBCF has grown organically over time—through attending events, lending her voice to important conversations, and most recently, helping create memorable moments at our much-loved Bubbly Breakfast.
What stands out most about Tanya is her genuine compassion for people. Whether she’s on stage, behind the microphone, or quietly supporting someone in need, her commitment to community is undeniable.
A Voice for Local Families
As Ambassador, Tanya Wilks OAM will play an important role in helping raise awareness of HBCF’s practical support services and advocating for the thousands of individuals and families across the Hunter navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.
From transport to treatment appointments, to cleaning services, emotional support, and survivorship programs, HBCF is here to ensure no one faces breast cancer alone—and Tanya will help us share that message far and wide.
HBCF General Manager said Tanya’s involvement reflects the strength of community at the heart of the organisation.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tanya as an official Ambassador for HBCF. Tanya is one of the Hunter’s most respected voices, but more importantly, she is someone who genuinely cares about people and community. Her passion for helping others aligns so naturally with our mission.”
A Personal Commitment to Giving Back
For Tanya Wilks OAM, stepping into the Ambassador role is deeply personal.
“Supporting local families affected by breast cancer is really close to my heart, which is why I’m incredibly proud to step into the role of Ambassador for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation,” she shared.
Tanya’s journey with HBCF began with a simple desire to help.
“I just said, ‘I want to help’—whether that was driving people to appointments or whatever it was. So when the opportunity came along, I knew this was my way of elevating that support and speaking loudly and proudly as an Ambassador.”
She also encouraged the broader community to continue rallying behind local families:
“We just need to keep lifting it up—that’s our job as a community.”
Stronger Together
Since 1999, HBCF has been dedicated to providing practical, emotional and financial support to local people affected by breast cancer—ensuring that every dollar raised stays right here in the Hunter to support local families.
The addition of Tanya Wilks OAM as an Ambassador marks an exciting new chapter, helping to amplify awareness and strengthen community connection across the region.
Together, we can continue to make a difference—because no one should face breast cancer alone.
