The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation’s Mobile Wig & Headwear Library, proudly supported by The Mutual Bank, offers free access to quality wigs and headwear for people navigating hair loss due to breast cancer treatment.
We understand that hair loss can be one of the most emotionally challenging parts of treatment. Our mobile service allows clients to explore options privately and comfortably at home, supported by our caring volunteers every step of the way.

Whether you’re looking for long or short, straight or wavy, blonde, grey, brunette or even rainbow, we have a range to suit all styles and preferences.

With the latest styles including bamboo and cotton, we’re sure to have some headwear to suit your needs. Choose from our large range.

Let us know what you’re looking for an we’ll bring you six items to try on in the comfort of your own home. We offer contactless delivery and even let you keep the items for a few days so you can select the perfect item.
More Options
If you’re a Hunter breast cancer client, you can select one item from our collection to keep free of charge. Additional items may also be purchased for a cost making us a one-stop shop for all your headwear needs.

Making the decision to wear a wig or headwear is a very personal choice. At HBCF we encourage clients to be empowered and to makea decision that provides comfort and instills confidence.

How the Mobile Wig & Headwear Library works
We’ve designed this service to be simple, flexible and client-led.
Step 1: Browse our online library
Once you’re registered, we’ll send you a link to our online library of wigs and headwear so you can browse styles in your own time.
Step 2: Choose up to six styles
Select up to six wigs or headwear pieces you’d like to try based on your preferences for style, colour and fit.
Step 3: Home delivery by our volunteers
Our volunteers will deliver your selected items directly to your home, allowing you to try them on comfortably and privately.
Step 4: Choose your wig
You can keep one wig free of charge. If you’d like additional wigs or headwear, these can be purchased at an affordable cost.
Step 5: Collection of remaining items
Around one week later, our volunteers will return to collect the remaining wigs, making the process easy and stress-free.

Who can access the Mobile Wig & Headwear Library?
The service is available free to eligible people in the Hunter region undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Can I purchase additional wigs or headwear?
Yes. If you would like more than one wig or additional headwear, these can be purchased at an affordable cost.
How long do I have to decide?
You’ll usually have around one week to try on the wigs before our volunteers return to collect the remaining items.
Are the wigs cleaned and maintained?
Yes. All wigs are professionally cleaned and prepared before being loaned to clients.
Does the first wig really cost nothing?
Yes. The first wig is provided free of charge thanks to community support and our generous sponsor.
Do I need to leave my home to use this service?
No. Our volunteers deliver and collect the wigs from your home, so you can try everything privately and comfortably.
What if I don’t like any of the wigs I selected?
That’s okay. We understand it can take time to find the right fit. We can discuss next steps and alternative options with you.
Can I come to your office to look at the wigs?
Unfortunately not. As we share our office space with other local charities, we don't have the room to have all of the wigs out on display.
