Celebrating 20 years of connection and impact

Held to coincide with International Women’s Day and marking the 20th anniversary of the much‑loved event, the 2026 Bubbly Breakfast brought together community leaders, supporters, businesses and advocates to celebrate resilience, generosity and local impact.

For two decades, the Bubbly Breakfast has been about more than fundraising — it’s about creating a space where people can connect, be inspired and come together to support those doing it tough during treatment.

An inspiring return home

Headlining the event was Newcastle‑born author, entrepreneur and television personality Jackie Gillies, who returned home to share her personal journey and encourage guests to trust their intuition and embrace their inner strength.

Guests enjoyed a vibrant morning of storytelling, laughter and celebration, while raising vital funds to help ensure no one in our region faces breast cancer alone.

What this support makes possible

Funds raised from the Bubbly Breakfast go directly towards HBCF’s practical support services, which help ease the everyday burden of breast cancer treatment. These services include transport to treatment, home cleaning, lawn care and comfort items for people undergoing treatment across the Hunter region.

HBCF Marketing & Fundraising Manager Josh Lawlor said the overwhelming community response highlighted the power of local generosity.

“Seeing more than 370 women come together to celebrate International Women’s Day while supporting such an important cause was incredibly special,” Mr Lawlor said.

“Raising over $64,000 in a single morning will help us continue providing practical support services to people navigating breast cancer right here in the Hunter."

A community behind every moment

General Manager Louise Ross reflected on the significance of the event’s success, acknowledging the strength of the community that continues to stand behind the Foundation.

The 2026 Bubbly Breakfast was a reminder of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose — and of the real difference that local support can make in the lives of local people.
