What is workplace giving?
Workplace giving (also known as payroll giving) is a simple and tax-effective way for employees to support charities through regular pre-tax donations deducted directly from their pay.
Even small regular donations can make a powerful difference for local people facing breast cancer.
At HBCF, those donations help provide practical support services including:
- Transport to treatment appointments
- Home cleaning
- Lawn maintenance
- Fuel vouchers
- Comfort items and care packs
- Wig and headwear support
- Survivorship and wellbeing programs
By supporting HBCF through workplace giving, your organisation is helping ensure no one in the Hunter faces breast cancer alone.
*Marginal tax rate applied for employees earning between $37,001 and $90,000 per annum @ 1 August 2021. Excludes Medicare Levy.

No. Most payroll systems can easily accommodate workplace giving deductions, and HBCF can guide your team through the process.
What happens if I change jobs?
If you change employers, you can set up a new workplace giving arrangement with your new payroll team.
Will I receive updates?
Yes. HBCF will provide regular communications so you can see the impact of your support.
Is matched giving available?
If your employer offers a matched giving policy, your impact will be even greater.
How do employees participate?
Employees simply nominate the amount they would like deducted from their pay on a regular basis.
Can I give even if my employer doesn’t offer workplace giving?
Yes. You can still donate directly to HBCF or encourage your employer to consider establishing a program.
Does workplace giving affect superannuation?
No. Workplace giving does not affect your super contributions or payroll tax.
