Workplace Giving

Make your everyday work count

Workplace giving is an easy and powerful way to support people in the Hunter region facing breast cancer. By giving a small amount from your pre-tax salary, you can make a real local impact while enjoying immediate tax benefits.

Workplace giving lets you give at a level that suits you, and because donations are taken before tax, you receive the tax benefit straight away — there’s no need to wait until tax time.

Whether your workplace already has a program or you’re thinking about suggesting one, this page explains how it works and how you can get involved.

How workplace giving works

Workplace giving allows you to donate a small portion of your salary directly through your employer’s payroll system.

It’s:

  • Easy to join — once set up it’s automated
  • Flexible — you choose how much you give
  • Tax effective — donations come from your pre-tax income
  • Impactful — every dollar supports local services for people with breast cancer

For example, if you contribute $10 from your pay each fortnight, the actual after-tax cost to you may be significantly less, while HBCF receives the full amount to support practical services such as transport, home care, wigs and recovery programs.

Benefits of Workplace Giving

Easy and convenient

Once you’re set up, donations are automatically deducted from your pay — no receipts, no paperwork.

Immediate tax benefit

Because it comes from your pre-tax income, workplace giving can reduce your taxable income right away.

Affordable and flexible

You decide the amount you’d like to give — there is no minimum or maximum.

Multiply your impact

If your employer offers matched giving, your donation can be doubled.

Support your community

Your contributions help fund HBCF’s support services for people in the Hunter region facing breast cancer.

Stay informed

You’ll receive updates on the impact your giving is making in your community.

$10 a fortnight could...

... help provide fuel vouchers so someone can get to life-saving treatment when the cost of driving to appointments becomes a barrier.

... helps fund comfort cushions for people recovering from breast surgery, easing pain and supporting healing during those difficult early weeks.

... contributes to home cleaning or lawn care support, helping someone conserve their energy and recover in a clean, safe home.
